The Road Less Taken...

Traveling in this winding road,
I map the route I take.
And as I go along my course,
I met a dame astray.


she was as though she'd been so far,
a journey lived abound.
As I inquire how it had been
she stared through quite astound.


She offered me to settle in
as she starts to confide
of what a voyage made of her
a soul so full of life.


Through toss & turns, and stalls & shakes
on storms amidst her way.
Her strength to get herself afloat
kept her in light of day.


No chance or change
she left unturned to make of it her way.
with battles waged and titles earned
she goes on to finish the race.


And treat it as a circumstance
to keep herself as sane.
And so she walks and beam with pride
of all dilemmas past.


That out of every challenge
through she left without a scratch.

~ a sound that resonates across the hall
where spirits dance as though in a ball


a lively party for the living dead
in a haunted place that stays unsaid

a reason we will never find
for whatever lingers in their mind


that little place, that quiet home
a place to dwell for the lost that roam ~
